About
Hi, I'm Warren Jones. I received my Masters in Music from Tufts University in 2001. With over 22 years of teaching experience, I've instructed students ranging from 4 to 74 years old. My teaching background is unique, ranging from private lessons with young children to graduate-level university courses. I've taught over 2,000 online lessons, using technology and creativity to assist students all over the country with their musical journeys.
My passion is teaching beginners. I love being the teacher who lights the initial spark in a young musician. I use a system I've created, called Drum Color Theory, to light this fire, internalizing rhythm in a way that sets my students up for a lifetime of music making. By connecting rhythm and color, I use this method to create a foundation for my students which leads to a sense of ease and maturity, no matter what age, level or instrument. I also specialize in teaching multiple instruments to individual students, giving them the adaptability that comes from having diverse perspectives and experiences within the world of music. Additionally, I enjoy teaching intermediate and advanced students, focusing on technique, music theory and versatility.
