My Experience as a Teacher
During my time as a drummer and percussionist, I have become proficient in multiple styles and refined my skills through years of performing and teaching in professional capacities. My insight has informed my lessons to great effect, with many of my students making immense breakthroughs in their playing.
Over the past 30 years as a performer and educator, I have picked up effective and proven teaching techniques which focus on specific aspects. By using methodical approaches when practicing, students can make the most out of their time and hone in quickly on their areas of improvement.
The greatest joy I experience regularly as a teacher is observing the development of my students, however I particularly enjoy watching students build trust in the processes as they climb further and further towards becoming the players they wish to be.

My lessons are structured logically, and informed by my 30 years of teaching and performing. Each lesson will aim to keep students busy, progressing steadily, and engaging with their own musical interests.
Though it is important to keep sessions productive, enjoyment is absolutely essential to achieving the best results. Learning any musical instrument should be an exciting process, so I always like to keep lessons relaxed and encouraging for learners!
Each lesson is delivered and planned with the individual student in mind. No two drummers are the same, so I strongly believe that content for each lesson should reflect age, experience, interests, and rate of learning for each individual student.
