  • Theo Kosmidis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. His first musical experience was at
the age of 14 from a friend who was playing the guitar. He fell in love with music
ever since. He started as a self - taught musician gaining my skills from various

    participating in several bands.
He was really fond of guitar players such as Vinnie Moore, John Petrucci, Randy

he started taking lessons from Sakis Zachariades, a guitar player who attended the MI
school in Hollywood and was a student of Scott Henderson.
Many guitar players had influenced him. So, he begun studying guitar players such as
Robben Ford, Wes Montgomey, Joe Pass, Tal Farlow, Grant Green etc. Meanwhile,he
formed a trio and a quartet and he was performing around Thessaloniki. After
completing his military obligation he planned to attend the Sydney Conservatorium.
Although he was accepted, for financial reasons he decided to apply in schools in
Netherlands. He got accepted, together with his brother Dimitrios Kosmidis, in
Maastricht Conservatorium. From the beginning, he started to play there with
musicians and try to form bands and gig around the Limburg area. In 2008 he formed
2 bands: GrePol M.af.i.a (Musical Affairs Internationally Active) and GG Connection.
With GG Connection he performed for three and a half years, every Thursday in Edd's
Cafe in the Jam gigging all over Limburg in clubs and Festivals.
In 2011 GrePol M.af.i.a (Musical Affairs Internationally Active) recorded their first
complete CD (in 2009 they recorded a demo CD with four songs) and they promote it
performing around Europe. In 2011 he also recorded a mini CD with GG Connection
with three original compositions. From 2007 to 2011, while he was in Maastricht, he
took a number of lessons from several teachers of different instruments, with one
cause which was Jazz and Improvised music. Along with his Bachelor studies he
attended for 3 years a minor subject in Music Pedagogics. He focused on teaching the
guitar in the best way to students.

Stratum, Gerald Canon, Phillipe Cathrine, Carlo Nardozza , Daniel Daemen, Timmy
Daemen, Arnoud Gerritse, Jan Formannoy, Claudius Valk, Frank Giebels and many

  • record own compositions. Despite that , he also flies  in Netherlands to perform with
GrePol M.af.i.a (Musical Affairs Internationally Active) and promote their CD "Bros
    Playin Across" all over Europe.
In 2013 he joined the band Crime Swing Investigation , as a sideman, playing together
for more than 3 years. He recorded also the debut CD of the band “Shot in the Dark” .

Bachelor in Jazz Guitar Performance with Honors from Maastricht Conservatoire . The Netherlands

Specialization in Music Pedagogy.

Published 5 books (2 of them available in Amazon and Lulu and 3 e-books)

From the beginning I want the lesson to be as musical as possible. We learn famous guitar Riffs from my 2 books. Chords in the basic position and apply them to songs. Also we learn notes on the fret board and some note-reading.  We learn small melodies from the 80's and 90's guitar era. Also we learn famous guitar solos and work in the art of improvising. Repertoire may vary, depending on the choices of the student. Later on , we learn some theory with examples from songs. Also we work on our technique , expression and artistry.
