In 2016, I successfully obtained a bachelor's degree in Oud Performance from the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music, getting a grade of “very good”. My academic journey continued as I pursued a bachelor's degree in music education from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik. With a rich background spanning over a decade, I bring forth more than 10 years of extensive experience in the realm of Oud teaching. Through digital mediums, I offer comprehensive online Oud lessons, available in Arabic, English, and French, catering to learners of all proficiency levels. My dedication to education extended to becoming an Oud instructor at the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music in 2019. Moreover, I had the honor of serving as an Oud player and Soloist in the esteemed "Lubnan Al Salam" Orchestra from 2010 to 2013, gracing the stages of prominent Lebanese theaters including the "Tournesol" theatre and the University of Saint Joseph theatre.
I begin by imparting the essential foundations, commencing with teaching students the proper technique for holding the oud, adeptly using the plectrum, and positioning the left hand. This journey embarks with an exploration of musical notes and the cultivation of our playing technique. As we progress, having attained mastery in reading notes and honing our technique, our focus transitions to the realm of ear training. This entails the art of playing music by ear, delving into the intricate realm of Arabic maqams, and acquiring the skill to discern and embrace their unique qualities. While a proficient playing technique is significant, equally vital is a comprehensive comprehension of Arabic music, encompassing its distinct features and nuances.
