Hello, my name is Roee. I have been playing and researching ethnic drums such as Frame Drum, Doumbek and Riqq for for 15 years. I've been studying for years in the "Middle Eastern Music center" in Jerusalem and also privately with great teachers such as Erez Munk, Yishay Afterman and Lev Alman.
I've been teaching private and group lessons on ethnic hand drums for ten years. I offer lessons at all skill levels, from total beginners to advanced players. I've studied and researched a couple of styles of music and percussion including south Indian carnatic system and middle eastern style.
I offer a practical organized method which includes exercises and drills that focus on each student's needs. The exercises are simple and can be developed to more a developed ways of musical creativity.
My aim is to give you ways you can develop your on style, expression, grooves or phrases. Every exercise is also written and can be recorded. I use the middle eastern and south Indian rhythmic vocabulary to teach.
Studied in the "Middle east music center" in Israel for couple of years in Turkish and Arabic percussion styles.
Also studied privately for 10 years from the great teachers such as Erez Munk, Yishay Afterman and Lev Alman.
I use the Indian syllables to teach rhythm; I've found them very helpful.
