About

I have been teaching guitar privately for about 17 years to students of all levels, ages, and musical backgrounds, and I enjoy working with each students' specific goals and interests.    At the University of Southern California, as a graduate music student and Teaching Assistant, I taught multiple courses and sections of Beginning and Intermediate Pop/Rock Guitar to students of all levels and musical backgrounds.  I also gave weekly private lessons to undergraduate guitar students of all levels.   I am currently finishing my Doctorate of Musical Arts at USC, where I already received my Masters degree in Music in Studio/Jazz Guitar.

I currently teach guitar privately at Front Range Community College in Fort Collins, Colorado, where I also teach courses on Music Production and Songwriting.   I also teach guitar on Youtube on my channel, MT Guitar.  Feel free to check out some of my video lessons and content here: https://www.youtube.com/c/mtguitar

I love teaching and helping others get to where they want to go with guitar and music, and I enjoy working with the interests and goals of each individual student.  Besides teaching techniques, songs, exercises, and tone production, I also enjoy teaching fretboard understanding, music theory and ear training as it applies to guitar.

Let me know if you have any questions, and/or if you would like to sign up for your first lesson.  I would be happy to help you and your child get moving on your their guitar journey!  :)

Besides teaching techniques, songs, exercises, and tone production, I also enjoy teaching fretboard understanding, music theory and ear training as it applies to guitar.  I can teach guitar in all styles and to all levels, and I work with each individual student to create a custom lesson plan based on the students skill level, experience, and goals and interests.  I create custom-made Tabs and Sheet music for the student after each lesson.  Normally, I recommend that we spend half of the lesson working on fretboard understanding and music theory, with the other half of the lesson focused on songs and technique.  However, we can focus on what the student would prefer.
