About

Louisa started music lessons at the age of four at the Yamaha Music School’s special course for gifted kids, in Malaysia. Aside from being Summa Cum Laude graduate from Berklee College of Music, she attained her Diplomas in Music Performance from Trinity Guildhall London and completed all the graded examinations with distinction from The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) , at the age of 15. Louisa continued to show off her passion and versatility in music by writing live arrangements for big bands, and orchestras. She is a pianist, music producer/engineer, bandleader, arranger, and conductor.

Because of her many talents, her achievements and collaborations span locally and internationally. These include performing for pianist Richard Clayderman, singing with the Grammy Award Winner, Chris Tomlin. Louisa is also a touring musician and her band was featured in one of China’s biggest music festival, “JZ Festival” in Shanghai, 2017.

She has been teaching music for 10 years and has a strong passion for music education in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles and beyond. Louisa loves being in the process of helping and seeing her student’s vision becoming a reality. Louisa believes that losing yourself in the music helps students relieve stress, feel accomplished, and makes them feel excited to take on new challenges in music and life. She also includes ear-training as part of her teaching curriculum, as it expands one’s knowledge, and trains students to have a sharper ear, which aids in their learning.

I firmly believe in the communicative power of music that transcends human understanding. The nature of musical expression has also been widely discussed at a theoretical level throughout most of musical history, and science has proven that the emotional power behind music impacts our bodies in a way that no other art does. I want to know your musical expression and help you draw out the emotional power of music through our tailored music lessons.

Bachelors in Contemporary Writing & Production (Summa Cum Laude)
Berklee Achievement Scholarship recipient
Associate Diploma in Piano Performance, Trinity College London
Music producer for Beyonce’s Original All-Female Band "10-year Anniversary Concert" Trailer
Assistant Score producer for the documentary, “M for Malaysia”
Conductor and music arranger for the Chinese pop star, Lee Hom Wang’s “Open Fire” concert tour

I believe there is no one strict method to guide one's musical journey. I believe there is an underlying bridge between the traditional teaching method (classical techniques and music theory approach) and the modern-day approach (painting, drawing, dance, musical games, apps, softwares etc.) which helps spark the right brain more, known as the creative or artistic side of the brain, eventually creating higher rates of effectiveness in music education. These various methods have proven that this helps spark the student's creativity and innovation as they venture on their musical journey. It's essential that my students receive personalized suggestions to assist them in finding their individual musical expression and goals. Rather than doing things the typical way, I've created a system designed around each of my student's unique musicality.
