About
I am a professional brass instructor and performer based in Pittsburgh, PA. I have ten years of teaching experience at all age levels, including teaching private lessons, middle school ensembles, high school ensembles, masterclasses, and university level instruction.
As a performer, I am a regular member of the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra, where I have performed as Principal Tuba since 2016. I have also performed with the Wheeling Symphony, West Virginia Symphony, and River City Brass Band. Besides regular performances in the United States, I have also performed in Brazil and Hungary.

Students may seek lessons for a variety of reasons, whether to improve on their instrument, to build confidence both as a musician and as a person, to have guidance from a one-on-one mentor, or to learn how to plan and meet long-term goals. Whatever the reason for taking music lessons, I seek to meet the student at their own pace, skill level, and learning style.
I aim to strike a balance between building fundamental concepts, studying materials that will both challenge and inspire, and working toward long-term goals. I accomplish this by using an individualized approach, bringing gentle awareness to areas for growth, and employing targeted practice techniques and strategies. My personal goal for my students is to achieve long-term, lasting results that they can take with them through their journey in life.
I hold four degrees and diplomas, including: Doctor of Musical Arts from West Virginia University, Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music, Bachelor of Music from Capital University, and Artist Diploma from Duquesne University.
My curriculum changes based on the needs of each of my students. I often have beginners start with familiar tunes and folk tunes, while intermediate and advanced students will study from Bordogni (Rochut) and Arban's method books, in addition to other level-appropriate solos and etude books. I have also created a set of technical exercises and other study materials to aid my students in their learning.
