About
I am currently head of strings and a full time faculty member at the Bower School of Music, Florida Gulf Coast University. I have over twenty years violin and viola teaching experience, and supervise student string music educators. I've presented on studio teaching and conducting at the American String Teachers Association and Florida Music Educators Association conferences.
My studio teaching style is a bit old fashioned, but in the best possible way. One on one instruction has a history of working most successfully when a teacher has a solid and sound pedagogical approach and then tailors it to meet the needs of each student. We are learning more and more about how to meet the needs of different learning styles, and I stay current on methods, particularly for diverse learning styles.
