About

Hi! I am a fun, dedicated, and detail oriented violinist who loves to teach! I have 6 years of teaching experience (private teaching, University of Nebraska String Project, DooWop Shop, Community Music Institute), and I have been playing violin since I was 5. I perform with several orchestras around Oregon, and teach a studio online as well as in Eugene.

Performance achievements: University of Nebraska Concerto Competition, winner; Marrowstone Music Festival, fellowship recipient; University of Oregon Concerto Competition, finalist; Orchestras: Lincoln Symphony Orchestra, Eugene Symphony, Rogue Valley Symphony, Oregon Mozart Players, Eugene Concert Orchestra.

Suzuki Certified books 1-4

Trained in Paul Rolland Method pedagogy

I consider it an honor to work closely with students, understand their learning style, and create a plan for successful achievement. Teaching technical skill is the first foundation, so that the music comes to life and ease of playing takes away all barriers from the soul to the sound. This all takes time to develop, but I firmly believe that the second most enjoyable part of learning violin is learning discipline, and dedicated hard work. The results are marvelous when both teacher and student are putting their best efforts into the same goal.

Suzuki Certification: Books 1-4, Every Child Can. Certification with Dr. Terry Durbin Paul Rolland Method pedagogy: University of Oregon, University of Louisville Violin Studies: Hal Grossman, Rebecca Fischer, Cheryl Kutscher Masterclasses: Rachel Barton Pine, James Ehnes, David Oistrach String Quartet, Walter Gray, Dr. Timothy Schwartz

Materials will vary depending on the student, but I start all beginners by using Suzuki Book 1 (most recent edition), and other technique or music reading books will be necessary depending on the circumstances.

Other possible technique books: I can read music, Sitt etude books 1-3, Mazas op. 36 book 1, Kreutzer's 42 studies for violin, and more
