Greetings! My name is Hannah, and I am ThatViolinChick, a well-known violinist around the globe. My violin experience began 30 years ago when I began formal training in both classical and fiddle styles.
My musical journey has taken me to various prestigious platforms, including four years of contest and performance fiddling, as well as membership in the Tulsa Youth Symphony for an additional four years. I have had the pleasure of performing with church orchestras and bands, and for the past four years, I have honed my skills as a professional online busking violinist on Twitch.tv. My specialization lies in multi-genre improvisation, which has earned me a reputation as an exceptionally versatile performer.
I have also had the opportunity to teach and tutor violin lessons independently. My expertise in the craft led me to perform during the keynote and opening ceremony of TwitchCon in San Diego, where I opened for the legendary Dragonforce, a moment that remains a highlight of my career.

Students will have the chance to explore music across different genres, including game music, rather than solely focusing on classical pieces. I prioritize a comprehensive learning approach that blends visual and auditory elements. To achieve this, students will have access to book and workbook materials, along with visual demonstrations by me or through other video or pictorial examples.
Our sessions will emphasize not only music reading skills but also the ability to listen for accuracy and intonation, and the development of muscle memory required to produce the correct notes and sound. While we will still cover the fundamentals of classical form and basic violin playing during the early stages, I will tailor the lessons to the student's interests and preferences, delving into genres such as fiddle, pop, metal, or any other musical style that resonates with them.
I am an online personality/content creator, and violinist on Twitch and Youtube. I've been classically and fiddle trained for 30+ years and I have been professionally performing for 6 years. I have previously administered tutoring and lessons independently for 2 years.
For beginners I start with two books: Essential Elements for Strings (Violin) and All for Strings Theory Book for Violin.
The first book is an introductory to position, parts of the violin and bow, and beginning exercises that increase in difficulty. The second book teaches the fundamentals of string (and music) theory. Theory is an important aspect to understanding the music being played as well as to reading sheet music.
If someone is interested in improv lessons specifically, we can discuss what will then be needed once I've ascertained current knowledge and skill level, but most things will be online.
