I teach embouchure, technique, tone, and intonation according to sensible principles that will make it easier for the student to understand and master. I teach jazz improvisation not according to the "Chord/Scale Theory", but first and foremost as a type of "Spontaneous Composition". We begin with melodies, manipulation of melodies, and understanding how they are formed and how they fit to a chord structure. For more advanced students, you will learn how to "turbo-charge" your improvisational skills with the creation of "Improv Etudes". There we will be focusing on learning to practice to play exactly how you envision your playing.
