About

Corinne started playing violin at age 3 and has taught since her teens.  She earned a HS Diploma with a special concentration in violin from NC School of the Arts under Elaine Richey and a BA Magna Cum Laude in performing arts under Rudolf Haken from WVU while on a presidential merit scholarship for violin.  Since then she has performed with various symphonies and spent two years as the concert mistress of the Androscoggin Valley Community Orchestra. She has also taught middle school orchestra and conducted the Santa Rosa Strings Youth Orchestra. Corinne is a former homeschooler and a homeschool mom herself who loves teaching children online because it allows access to musical instruction for those in areas who may not have local resources. Her other passion is the upper end of the age spectrum and notes that one of her favorite students was a retired scientist who finally had time to focus on violin in his retirement. During lessons she focuses on note reading, theory, and classical training for all ages.

Corinne focuses on note reading and accuracy with her violin students. She teaches scales and fingering patterns and encourages experienced students to find what works for their hands. She uses the Suzuki curriculum for pacing, but supplements it with scales and etudes and level-appropriate music theory.
