Christina Ann Ridgeway

Veteran English teacher educated at the University of West Alabama. I hold a Bachelor's in English and a Master's in Education with a concentration in English/Reading/Language Arts.  I have 19 years  combined experience in the classroom and virtual setting.  I have had many opportunities to teach a variety of English and Reading courses during my career. I have had the opportunity to work with students ranging from grade 3 through college. I have also worked with students who were English language learners. While working as a mentor, I helped transition first year college students into their new roles as independent students . One of the most satisfying experiences of my teaching career has been working with students who were unable to pass English and Reading portions of the Alabama Graduation Exam. Many of these students had dropped-out or were on the verge of dropping out of high school because they could not pass the exam. As a Reading Specialist, I was able to assist these students with great success. I have worked with several high schools and colleges in the state of Alabama. I am also a volunteer instructor with the University of the People.
