About

Brandon currently holds a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance, a Master of Music degree in viola performance, and has been working as a professional musician in the Los Angeles area for over a decade.

He has performed under the baton of countless renowned composers and conductors such as,  Inon Zur, Gary Schymann, Chris Lennertz, Austin Wintory, Bruce Broughton, Russell Brower, John Debney, and Jack Wall. He’s performed with artists such as: Leslie Odom Jr., Sofia Carson ,Tori Kelly, Michael Bolton, Serj Tankian, Jennifer Lopez, and Billie Eilish for her 2022 Academy Award winning performance of, “No Time to Die.”  Brandon has also performed on live television for the ESPY Awards, American Song Contest and The VOICE; and has recorded for films and video games such as Fortnite and Coming 2 America. He has also spent over 12 months on the road, performing in over 30 U.S. states and in the countries of Haiti, Colombia, Portugal and France, as a violinist and music director with the Celebrant Singers.

Brandon is currently on faculty at Pasadena Conservatory of Music and is the Suzuki Strings Program Coordinator. His passion outside of recording and performing lies in education. Central to Brandon’s teaching philosophy is the belief that all students have the ability to grow and thrive as well-rounded individuals from the study of music. He works carefully with each pupil to outline goals and develop a clear path to achieving them. Brandon’s students have gone on to study with professors at the Colburn School, hold positions with the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles, attend Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, and participate in numerous prestigious programs such as, the Interlochen Summer Arts Camp, Montecito International Music Festival, and even go onto universities such as Oberlin Conservatory.

My teaching philosophy is built on the idea that students have the ability to grow and thrive as well-rounded individuals from the study of music. My focus is centered around four priorities in developmental skills: POSTURE, TONE, INTONATION and MUSICALITY. Students will be challenged to layer each skill with a series of tasks each lesson that focus on the mechanics of their instrument and ear training. Reading and notation are trained as a separate skill and brought together to promote the highest level of ability on the violin/viola, with a fluency in reading music notation and ear training.
